Behind the Scenes: Visiting Johor Bahru

The city of Johor Bahru is a complex place positioned as something of a retreat from urban life. It’s the capital city of Johor in Southern Malaysia with a population of about 500,000, has recently undergone a rather radical transformation and is home to a range of temples, art galleries…as well as crime and petty theft. It’s also home to Zakii, at least some of the time, and a key location in the filming of Edge of Obedience.

Work on the film is continuing at a good pace, but we also wanted to give you a sneak peek at the locations we’ve been filming in…to whet your appetite for the finished product if nothing else! We hope these pictures will give you a glimpse at Johor Bahru that is both honest and enlightening.
